Rose Grafting at Goodwood
Bill Kerber's hands-on demonstrations offer attendees the chance to learn techniques of "Rooting and Grafting Roses, With or Without Access to a water Misting System." Bill's experience leading the rose propagation program for nearly 20 years at Goodwood is well known. The extraordinary variety of old garden roses at Goodwood are rooted for sale to the public, to benefit Goodwood Museum and Gardens. Less known are techniques for grafting roses on selected rootstock. Bill shares his skills and knowledge about both of these approaches to propagation. The volunteers have learned by doing techniques that result in an extremely high success rate of over 80% on most cuttings.
