The Tallahassee Area Rose Society (TARS) celebrated “Rose Month” during the month of June, 2010. The Leroy Collins Leon County Public Library also celebrated Library month during June. Visitors to the main Library were treated to a display of roses, rose materials from the American Rose Society (ARS) and the local Tallahassee Area Rose Society. There were fresh locally grown roses, books on roses and other rose educational material included in the display for the public. Also contact and membership information for ARS and TARS were available. Along with the rose display the library received a one year courtesy subscription to American Rose, the monthly magazine of the American Rose Society, they also received the ARS Modern Roses 12 book FREE, which normally costs ~$100.00. And the library will be included as a “Library Member” of ARS!
